Joseph Quimby Actor/Model
In October 2018 I started working as a background actor, and stage actor in the Atlanta area. With acting training since then, speaking roles followed in several non-union films/shorts/commercials.
I enjoyed a lead role in a stage play in January/February 2020, a supporting role in another play and have extensive onset experience in TV and film productions in the Atlanta area.
I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was in the U.S. Navy for more than 27 years before leaving in 2000. In the service I had the opportunity to work as an enlisted journalist specializing in public affairs, photojournalism, radio & TV broadcasting. I earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer in nine years, received a direct commissioning appointment to Ensign (Public Affairs) in 1983 and a short while later returned to active duty. I retired with the rank of commander in 2000. I was fortunate to serve on two aircraft carriers and two other surface ships along with tours in Iceland, Scotland, Italy and various posting in the United States serving as a spokesman for the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense. One of the best assignments was with the Navy Broadcasting Service.
When I left the Navy I enjoyed the best gig ever as a stay at home father for four years. I then worked in public relations/public affairs positions at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Emory University Health Science, the Georgia National Guard and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) before my entry into full time acting.
I did have the honor to perform in stage productions at overseas bases in Iceland and Scotland in the ’80s and ’90s.
My acting resume is on a separate page.
